Nusrat Jahan is working as a Research Consultant in the Climate Change and Disaster Management Division of Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS). She has joined CEGIS on 19 June,2022. She has conducted her undergraduate thesis titled “Statistical Analysis of Rainfall Variability and Its Trends in The Coastal Zones of Bangladesh Due to Climate Change”. The main focus of the thesis was to understand the annual and seasonal rainfall variations, pattern of distribution, trends of extreme events and to identify the vulnerable regions in the Coastal zones due to climate change.
Within this short time, she got engaged some projects like the Coastal embankment improvement project (CEIP-II), My Village My Town, Hydro morphological study for three bridges at Rangpur division, Development of Landslide Risk Profile, Maps, Strategy Framework, and Action Plans for Hillside Road Network of Rangamati, Khagrachari, and Bandarban Hill District, hydrodynamic modelling of khals for “Chattogram City Water-logging Project” etc. She has experience in using some mathematical modeling tools i.e., SOBEK, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, QGIS etc.
