Career Summary

Ms. Maesha joined the Climate Change and Disaster Management Division of CEGIS on August, 2022 as a research consultant. She has experience working in climate risk and vulnerability assessmentfuture climate projectionhydrologic and hydrodynamic modelingdisaster risk reduction, environmental and social impact assessment etc. She has actively worked in updating the hydraulic model of Chattogram-Cox's Bazar region for flood risk assessment using SOBEK and slope stability model for selected hills of Rangamati district using PLAXIS 2D. She has also contributed in preparing the guideline for low-cost landslide mitigation measures. 

She is experienced in carrying out climate risk and vulnerability assessment following latest IPCC guidelines and was involved in climate change vulnerability assessment for 9 LIUPC cities in Bangladesh, assessment of climate change risk and vulnerability for Fisheries and Aquaculture Sector in Bangladesh along with assessment of climate change risk and vulnerability focusing on community and agro-forestry in the Chattogram Hill Tracts. She was involved in preparing a guideline on low-cost landslide mitigation measures under ‘Development of Landslide Risk Profile, Maps, Strategy Framework and Action plans for Hill side Road Network of Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Bandarban Hill District, Bangladesh’ project and preparation of investment portfolio for the adaptation interventions under ‘Formulation and Advancement of National Adaptation Plan Process in Bangladesh’ project.

Ms. Maesha has experience working with industry-related softwares like ArcGIS, Q GIS, ArcSWAT, OpenLISEM, SOBEK, HEC-RAS, PLAXIS 2D and programming languages R and Python. She has actively worked in updating the hydraulic model of Cox's Bazar region for flood risk assessment using SOBEK, developing hydrologic model of selected roads of Rangamati for analysing slope stability and factor of safety using OpenLISEM, developing slope stability analysis model for selected spots of Rangamati using PLAXIS 2D and developing hydrologic models of selected watersheds of CHT using ArcSWAT. Furthermore, she has hands-on experiences in facilitating and conducting workshops, trainings, seminars and national level dialogues.
