Ms. Maesha joined the Climate Change and Disaster Management Division of CEGIS on 17 August, 2022 as a research consultant. She has experience working in climate risk and vulnerability assessment, future climate projection, hydrologic and hydrodynamic modeling, disaster risk reduction, environmental and social impact assessment etc. She has actively worked in updating the hydraulic model of Chattogram-Cox's Bazar region for flood risk assessment using SOBEK and slope stability model for selected hills of Rangamati district using PLAXIS 2D. She has also contributed in preparing the guideline for low-cost landslide mitigation measures.
In this short time, she has been involved in some notable projects like City Level Climate Vulnerabilities Assessment in Bangladesh under Livelihoods Improvement for Urban Poor Communities (LIUPC); CRVA for Fisheries and Aquaculture; Formulation of National Adaptation Plan; Climate Change Adaptation through Agroecological Landscape Restoration; Flood Modelling and Flood Hazard Assessment for selected districts in Bangladesh; Development of Landslide Risk Profile, Maps, Strategy Framework and Action plans for Hill side Road Network of Rangamati, Khagrachari, Bandarban Hill District, Bangladesh etc. She has also contributed to different interdivisional projects including Consultancy Services for Institutional Strengthening and Project Management for FRERMIP - Project 2, East Gopalganj Integrated Water Management Project. She has experience working with ArcMap, ArcSWAT, SOBEK, HEC-RAS, PLAXIS 2D etc. modeling software as well as programming languages R and Python.
