Since 2024, Mohammad Kawsar Hossain has been working with the Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) as a Research Consultant in the Climate Change and Disaster Management Division.He has experience in the fields of water resources management, climate change risk, vulnerabilities, impacts assessment, hydrologic and hydrodynamic assessment, and modeling, GIS data analysis and preprocessing, and environmental impact assessment.
Mr. Kawsar Hossain is proficient in an array of software, including ArcGIS, MATLAB, AUTOCAD, HEC-RAS, SWAT, SOBEK, and HEC-HMS. His current project is called "Investing in climate change adaptation through agroecological landscape restoration: A nature-based solution for climate resilience."
During his academic tenure, he worked on projects such as the accretion and erosion analysis, the shifting of the Noakhali shoreline, and the hydrodynamic analysis and navigability evaluation of the Kushiyara river in Bangladesh. As president of the BUET Career Club, he has also enhanced his skills in leadership and management.
