Mr. Manik has more than twenty years of experience in the field of community risk assessment and community-based early warning system. Experience in project management, community mobilization, income-generating activities (IGA) and livelihood sustenance, development of community leadership, identification of community vulnerability, guiding alternative IGA, SWOT analysis of Community-Based Organizations, and conducting training programs and workshops. He also has skills and expertise in developing social maps, conducting FGD and consultative workshops, and community risk assessment (CRA). Worked as a project leader for “Dissemination of Erosion Prediction Results to the Community". Worked in a research project entitled “Assessment of Natural Springs in the Chittagong Hill Tracts Districts" focusing on the underlying causes for their deterioration and the effects on drinking water and CHT people’s lives; also participated in a study "Vulnerability Analysis of Major Livelihood Groups in the Coastal Zone of Bangladesh". Worked as a sociologist in "Mapping Exercise on Water-Logging in South-West Bangladesh" under the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Worked as a community expert in Asian Development Bank (ADB) in "Flood Forecasting System and Early Warning dissemination process".
