Screening & Technical and Environmental Auditing of BWDB Schemes

2008 - 2015

Water Management Improvement Project has been designed to improve the performance of the BWDB schemes through participation of local communities to play an expanded role at all stages of the project cycle. In this connection, CEGIS was engaged by the BWDB under the “Screening and Technical & Environmental Auditing of BWDB Schemes” of package (S3) under WMIP. I am a study team member in this project as a Water and Environmental Specialist.

Environmental Assessment (EA) for Coastal Embankment Improvement Programme (CEIP)

2011 - 2013

BWDB constructed 139 polders in the coastal area to protect tidal flooding  and saline water intrusion since 1960 .Coastal polders affected by tidal flooding  during  cyclonic storm surges in 1970 and 1991. Rehabilitation project ECRRP 2007 was taken after cyclones Sidr (2007) and Aila (2009) followed ECRRP 2007, Coastal Embankment Improvement Programme (CEIP) was initiated in 2011. 17 numbers of polders have been selected for rehabilitation by three packages under CEIP-1. CEGIS is carrying out EIA for 17 Polders under package 1, 2 and 3. Package 2 include 6 Polders. Now I am working in second phase of the project as an Environmental Specialist.
