Dr. Jakia Akter has been working at CEGIS since 2005 in the divisions of Water Resources, Climate Change Study, and River, Delta and Coastal Morphology. She has experience in rivers, delta and coastal morphology along with water and environment-related issues. She has completed a couple of geomorphological studies on Bangladesh's major rivers and coastal areas. The development of the book "Rivers of Bangladesh," a morphological study of the haor region, a geomorphological study of the Arial Khan River, a study of the century-scale dynamics of the Bengal delta, a study of the sediment dispersal process in the Meghna estuary, and a study on the evolution of Bengal Delta and its prevailing processes are notable among her completed studies. Some of her works by this time have been published in different books and conference proceedings. She has research potential, analytical and communication skills, creativity, and leadership skills. Prior to joining CEGIS, she had worked at Global Water Partnership and Asia Pacific University.
