Mr. Rahman is intensively engaged in socio-economic research and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies. Throughout his professional career, he engaged in different socio-economic related studies i.e. SIA, EIA, ESIA, Feasibility study, Resettlement Plan, Livelihood Restoration Plan, Food Security Assessment, Livelihood Modeling, Social Safeguard Planning, Poverty Analysis, Baseline with benchmark Development, Evaluation Study, Gender Analysis, Risk Indexing, Social Mapping, Indigenous Community Development, Social mobilization and many more, and gained ample experience. Sample designing, research method development, questionnaire development, conducting Questionnaire Survey, FGD, KII, PCM, PDM, RRA, PRA, case study and so on, data checking and analysis, cost-benefit analysis, social mapping, resource mapping, impact assessment-evaluating-management plan development following national and international policies and guidelines are the major tasks conducting during the engagement of the studies.
As a statistician, he has conducted dependency tests for analyzing the impacts of different disasters on internal displacement, performed Indexing of risk, livelihood and Gini Coefficient, sampling procedures, population projection, sample size selection and trend analysis in monitoring issues. For doing these statistical software - SPSS, R, MS Access, and MS Excel are used. He also used to apply ArcGIS in sampling procedures and mapping. Mr. Rahman has been working in CEGIS since 2011.
