Md. Abdur Rahman is working as a Research Consultant in the Climate Change and Disaster Management Division for the Center for Environment and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS). Since May 2022, he has been collaborating with CEGIS on a variety of initiatives aimed at reducing the risk of disaster and the effects of climate change. Previously He has been involved in several projects of the Water Resources management and Climate Change Division, such as “Climate change vulnerability assessment for 9 LIUPC cities”. Also, he was engaged in “Feasibility study on for rehabilitation/renovation of Chandpur Irrigation Project”, “Integrated water resource management of Haor Areas in Sunamganj District”, Hydro-dynamic modeling of khals for “Chattogram City Water-Logging Project” of CDA (Chattogram Development Authority)" and “Coastal Embankment Improvement Project (CEIP) phase-II”
Currently he has been working on hydro-morphological study of the Mongla river in Bangladesh. Also, he is working on development of hydro-dynamic modeling for “Feasibility study for water resource management in Kirtonkhola- Sugandha-Bishkhali river system”. Furthermore, he has been involved in analyzing several sets of climatic data. He has working experience on planning, estimating structural design cost of those projects. He has experience in using some mathematical modelling tools i.e, ArcGIS, SOBEK, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD etc.
