Socio-Economic and Livelihood

Socio-Economic & Institutional Division

The Social and Economic Division is responsible for overseeing and protecting the economic interests of projects through using most modern social and economic analytical tools for project planning, preparation, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The Division carries out studies and research with respect to optimisation of use and management of natural, financial and human resources for projects under both the public and private sector.

The Division is gradually extending its scope to cover national targets under the MDGs and the upcoming PRSP-II through direct participation in preparing those national documents. The Division synchronises elements of multidisciplinary issues for integrated resources management, including development of economic modelling of climate change. The project activities carried out during the financial year 2006-07 are present below:
