August 15, national mourning day is the darkest chapter of Bangladesh’s history. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated on this day in 1975, along with all his family members.
The whole nation including CEGIS observed the National Mourning Day on August 15 in a befitting manner with due respect. Executive Director of CEGIS, Mr. Malik Fida A Khan along with several professionals paid homage to the Father of the Nation by placing wreaths at the portrait in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi Road No. 32 in the capital.
After paying respect, CEGIS professionals also joined the Discussion Meeting and Dua event at Pani Bhaban. Minister of State Mr. Zaheed Farooque, MP; Deputy Minister Mr. AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem, MP; Senior Secretary Mr. Kabir Bin Anwar of the Ministry of Water Resources and Director General Mr. Fazlur Rashid of Bangladesh Water Development Board were the honorary visitors of the event.
