Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment for 9 LIUPC Cities
The project focused on assessing climate vulnerability and urban infrastructures in nine cities in Bangladesh. These cities are particularly vulnerable due to issues such as intense rainfall, poor waste management, haphazard infrastructure, seasonal flooding, flash floods, droughts, stronger cyclones, rising sea levels, and saline intrusion. This project worked towards identifying climate change risks, particularly those resulting from variability, uncertainties, and impacts, which are anticipated to worsen. It is part of the Livelihoods Improvement Program for Urban Poor Communities (LIUPC) launched by UNDP. The activities included analysing vulnerabilities, reviewing small-scale infrastructures, and recommending climate-resilient systems.
