Formulation and Advancement of National Adaptation Plan Process in Bangladesh

The government of Bangladesh formulated its National Adaptation Plan (NAP) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEFCC) funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and supported by UNDP. The overarching vision of the NAP is to reduce risks and vulnerabilities to climate change impacts. The NAP process identified 14 climatic hazards across the country, dividing it into 11 climate stress areas. It proposed 113 interventions which will facilitate to achieve 6 targeted goals through 28 outcomes and 23 broad-scale strategies. The total budget for the 113 interventions is estimated to be 230 billion USD.
