Formulation of a National Framework for Loss & Damage; Damage Assessment, Accessing International Climate Finance
The project seeks to address Bangladesh’s vulnerability to climate change, with increasing threats from sea-level rise, extreme weather events, and altered rainfall patterns. The objective of this study is to create a comprehensive national framework to assess climate-induced loss and damage, enhancing the country's capacity to access international climate finance, particularly from the UNFCCC Loss and Damage Fund. The project encompasses four tasks: analyzing climate vulnerability, developing a national loss and damage assessment framework, examining climate-driven internal displacement, and facilitating knowledge sharing. This framework aims to support targeted interventions for resilience-building in vulnerable communities.
