Career Summary

Md. Tanvir Mahtab Fahim has been working in CEGIS since April, 2021 under Climate Change and Disaster Management Division. He has completed his under-graduation degree in Civil Engineering. During his under-graduation degree, he has completed his thesis on Environmental Engineering and worked on Land use and Land cover change detection using remote sensing techniques.

After graduation he started his professional career in CEGIS as a Research Consultant and got involved in several fields (i.e., Climate Change Impact and Adaptation Strategies, Water Resource Engineering and Management, Flood Risk Assessment, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment). During this tenure, he has worked responsibly in various promising projects i.e. Study on the effect of climate change on National and Regional Highways of Roads and Highways Department (RHD), Flood Risk Assessment at Sonagazi upazilla for establish 100 MW Solar power plant. While working on these projects, he has acquired technical expertise such as: meteorological analysis, hydrological data analysis, preparation of several maps using ArcGIS, statistical analysis of hydro meteorological parameters, vulnerability and risk assessment, Hydrodynamic model setup using HEC-RAS 1D/2D. He was actively involved and contributed with team members during the preparation of “Climate Resilient Road Design Manual” for Road and Highways Department (RHD). In addition, he has been engaged in report writing for different projects and have actively worked as co-facilitator in the training program titled “Capacity Building Training on Climate Resilient Roads.”
