Ms. Jakia Akter has worked in CEGIS since 2005 under Water Resources, Climate Change Study and Morphology divisions. She has experience in river and coastal morphology along with water related issues. She has been working on river and delta morphology since 2010. Furthermore, she has successfully completed a couple of geo-morphological studies on major rivers and the coastal area of Bangladesh. Out of her completed studies, preparation of a book titled “Rivers of Bangladesh”, morphological study of the haor area, geo-morphological study of the Arial Khan River, and study of the century scale dynamics of the Bengal delta and sediment dispersal process in the Meghna estuary are noteworthy. Some of her works by this time have been published in different books and conference proceedings. She has research potential, analytical and communication skills, creativity, and leadership skills. Prior to joining CEGIS, she had worked at Global Water Partnership and Asia Pacific University.
